The Kindergarten Parent Opinion Survey is an annual, anonymous online survey that seeks feedback from parents, carers and guardians of children who are enrolled in a Victorian funded kindergarten program.
Please contact your kindergarten between October 12 – 30 to access the unique survey for your service.
This feedback helps improve kindergarten programs, informs evidence-based policy development and service-level improvement initiatives.
The Victorian Department of Education (the Department) has engaged ORIMA Research to deliver this short online survey in 2026.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and the responses are anonymous.

The 2026 Kindergarten Parent opinion Survey will open from Monday 12 October to Friday 30 October 2026.

What questions does the survey ask?
The survey includes questions about parent experiences and satisfaction with their child’s kindergarten program and the factors that are important to them in choosing a kindergarten service.

Why is the survey important?
Parent and carer feedback helps kindergarten services understand what is working well and where improvements could be made, so it can provide the best possible kindergarten experience for children and families.
The results provide a valuable starting point for conversations between service providers, teachers and educators about how to build on service strengths.
Survey results are also used by Victorian Government to inform early childhood policy, planning and service improvement initiatives across the state, supporting continuous improvement, and resource allocation services.

Who can participate?
Parents, carers and guardians of children enrolled in a Victorian 3-Year-Old or 4-Year-Old kindergarten program can complete the survey.

How do I participate?
Services will be responsible for directly contacting parents to invite them to participate and providing them with the survey link. Please reach out to your service directly to access the survey link, or ORIMA Research on [email protected] or 1800 654 585 (toll-free during business hours) if you have any questions.
It is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Dari, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese (Mandarin), Sinhalese, Traditional Chinese (Cantonese), Urdu and Vietnamese.

How long will it take to complete?
The online survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. It will be open between Monday 12 October and Friday 30 October.

Will my responses be kept private and confidential?
Yes! Your participation in the survey is voluntary and your responses are anonymous. ORIMA Research (the supplier administering the KPOS) is not provided with parent contact details, names or any other personal identifying information.

Do kindergarten providers and services receive survey results?
Any answers you choose to provide will be treated as private and confidential. Your kindergarten will only receive a report summarising survey results if 5 or more families complete the survey. This benchmark is to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of the respondents.
