The Australian Government Department of Education (the Department) has engaged ORIMA Research to undertake a short online survey about family, work and child care arrangements. Your participation in this important national survey will help the Australian Government evaluate child care policies. This includes how policies impact child care quality, availability and affordability.
Your participation in the survey is completely voluntary. The information you provide will be private and confidential. The department will receive de-identified data. You will not be able to be identified from the research results.

Who can participate in this survey?
The Australian Government Department of Education has selected a random sample of parents/guardians who have used paid child care in 2025. If selected, you would have received a letter from the Department.

The purpose of the survey is to find out about family, work and child care arrangements to help the Australian Government evaluate child care policies.

How long will it take to complete?
The survey should take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Will my responses be kept private and confidential?
Yes! Your participation in the survey is voluntary and the answers you provide will be treated as private and confidential. Findings will be provided in a de–identified way so that no person or the service will be identified.

When is the survey being conducted?
This online survey is being conducted over 2 – 30 June 2025.

How will I know whether I have won a $200 gift voucher?
By completing the 2025 Parent Survey, you will have a chance to win one of thirty (30) $200 digital gift vouchers. The distribution of prizes is as follows:
- 5 vouchers each for participants from New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (VIC), and Queensland (QLD)
- 3 vouchers each for South Australia (SA), Western Australia (WA), Tasmania (TAS), Australian Capital Territory (ACT), and Northern Territory (NT)
The prize draw will be conducted on 10 July 2025 (‘Drawing Date’). Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries received by the close of the survey fieldwork period, with separate draws conducted for each state and territory.
Winners will be notified via SMS using the phone number provided with their survey response. Notification will occur within seven (7) business days of the Drawing Date.
